Next Thursday, October 16, 1919, is the golden anniversary of an institution that through all these years has held service to the community the highest of its ideals. The actual opening of Schwabacher Bros. & Co. now Seattle’s oldest mercantile establishment, took place five days following that first announcement. During all the vicissitudes of fifty years in a community which has grown from such small beginnings to world-wide importance, overcoming all difficulties which stood in the way of its development as a great commercial and manufacturing city, # SCHWABACHER BROS. & CO., Inc., have maintained an unbroken identity and have striven unceasingly to be of worthy service to the constantly expanding city, with its trade territory of such marvelous promise and richness. Through every, day, month and year of this half century, the Schwabacher organization has fol- lowed the highest ideals of policy and of service and the organization is, therefore, justly proud of the prominent part it has played in the affairs of Seattle in every, stage of the vast development covering these fifty years. rom i AC AS et It is a matter of just pride that SCHWABACHER BROS. & CO., Inc., is today the oldest mercantile firm in the City of Seattle, carrying on its business under the same firm name as fifty years ago, and is, in fact older than the city itself, for it | was after the establishment of SCHWABACHER BROS. & CO., Inc., in Seattle that / the municipality was granted its first official charter as a city. vt Saunt ands Pa We are glad of this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to the people of Seattle and the Northwest, whose friendly spirit and support have made possible the development in Seattle of the leading wholesale grocery house of.the Pacific Coast.
