REE A TO NERS TE EE OT ETE OL LET LER i tai ale a aed esas ~ Tee REI eRNRMICE REN RRS por 55 THE SEATTLE STAR—TUESDAY, MAY 6, 1919. if the ie lf the banks take up this loan and invest their loanable funds in Victory Bonds that YOU should be taking, who is going to finance the Wheat Crop—what about the Fruit Harvest—the Fish Pack? The government has already put over a special “liberty loan” for the banks—treasury certifi- cates—which have been taken up exclusively by financial in- stitutions. $5,230,000,000, or over a bil- lion more than the entire Victory Loan, has been taken up in this way by the banks, and the final billion within the last 40 days! If banks invest now in order that the country may be saved the shame of having lain down, where will the money with which to carry on legitimate business come from?
