WE WANT THE PUBLIC TO KNOW that the Seattle agents of the stock fire insurance companies are not as nar- row or prejudiced as we accused them of being in their ap- parent support of the late N. D. ‘T. franchise. WE WANT THE PUBLIC TO KNOW that it was only through the high-handed methods of the man who until recently was president of the Insurance Exchange of Se- attle that use was made of the names and influence of the members of the exchange without their consent. WE WANT THE PUBLIC TO KNOW that we hereby apologize to the stock fire insurance agents of the city of Seattle, When we so severely censured them in yesterday’s paper that we did not know that all their names had been published in support of the N. D. T. franchise without their consent. WE WANT THE PUBLIC TO KNOW that we are glad to find many of the stock fire offices of the city voted against this franchise in support of the present efficient alarm service furnished by the Instantaneous Alarm Com- pany. We find that at least one of the strongest firms of the city has resigned membership in the Exchange, and that others have said they are going to do so unless there is some “house-cleaning.” This office has no fight to make against any honorable stock fire insurance agents, and is always glad to co- operate with them in anything that will improve fire protection or benefit the citizens of Seattle. As long as I am connected with the Instantaneous Alarm Company every stock fire insurance agent in Seattle will receive as courteous and ethical treatment from that office as any mutual insurance advocate.
