The Workers Can An old proverb says that it takes nine tailors to make a man. STAR—FRIDAY, JULY 5, 1918. PAGE 10 Win the War! The crux of the world war problem lies in the fact that it takes ten workers behind the lines to feed, arm and equip a soldier in the front trenches. Patriotism and loyalty to the land of the free must inspire every man at the bench and lathe. The workers of Seattle are building ships, making uniforms, welding weapons to carry on the war for democracy. And those of us who are Americans by choice, are just as loyal as citizens by accident of birth. Native-born or naturalized citizens, we owe unstinted service to this land of opportunity and freedom. The time necessary to achieve victory in Europe depends on quantity production of munitions here at home. Skilled workers of Seattle, give your government the full advantage of your experience. Every worker who wanders from town to town reduces his efficiency and loses valuable time. Seattle’s Business and Professional Leaders Dr. Henry Suzzallo H. C. Henry A. W. Leonard ©, J. Smith F. K.
