STAR—THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 1918. PAGE 8 Make It 300,000 THE SHIELD OF HONOR This Week Only! Washington GEATILE, King County and the State of Washington are responding like a mighty army to the trumpet call of the Third Liberty Loan. But we are just beginning! Secretary McAdoo calls for double the number of subscribers — 20,000,000, instead of the 10,000,000 of the Second Loan. That means almost 300,000 subscribers for the State of Washington — 75,000 for Seattle. We in this city and state are not only responding to the cry of a world whose throat is in the iron grip of the Hun, but hovering over us is the immortal shade of the Father of our Country, whose name our state so proudly bears; his coat of arms, sire of the starry emblem of our nation, is the badge of honor that comes to us these first seven Honor Days (April 6 to 18). Tribute indeed will it be to the patriotism of Washington State if we make this commonwealth lead the nation in the Third Liberty Loan. We CAN Do It! Copyright, 1918, T.
