Their understanding comes in in knowing how to breed for the best results from the meat standpoint. They sell their young cattle to another set of men called “feed ers,” who, along with the “breeders, classified in general as one group, the “producer The “breeder” of cattle ships his young, when they are ready, to the various commission men at the big Western stock centers, from whom the “feeders” purchase them. The “feed: ers” give the cattle a quick course of grain feeding, to fatten them for the market. At the exact moment at which they are ready to ship, the feeder ships them.
