No Conscienti STAR—THURSDAY, JULY 13, 1916. ous PAGE 7. Responsible for Poison Accidents Carbolic acid, bichloride of mercury tablets (corrosive sublimate), iodine, lysol, etc., are deadly poisons, and e ry time a druggist hands a bottle of these poisons over his counter, he is taking chances of spread- ing death among children and others who do not understand how to use these dangerous poisons which should now be discarded. By Adopting AS YOUR HOUSEHOLD REMEDIES by his discovery of Benetol (Glycerite of Naphthol) has revolutionized the use of antiseptics and germicides. Benetol is a chemical preparation worked out by Prof. H. C. Carel, formerly head of the Department of Medical Chemistry and Toxicology at the University of Minnesota, and Chemist to the Minnesota State Board of Health. Taken With Safety Into the Human Stomach Benetol used with hot water, in strength as directed, while much more powerful antisep- tically than carbolic acid, is the only potent germicide known which may be taken with safety into the human stomach. Upon this fact rests its enormous value in the internal treatment of diseases of germ origin, such as typhoid fever, dysentery and other diseases of the intestinal tract. In fact, Benetol vastly extends the field of internal medicine. ‘ Displaces the Poisons Benetol is likewise the most effective local stimulating agent known. Externally it will pro- have in the home. | duce healing when absolutely everything else has failed. For the same reason internally it stim- es the action of the secreting glands of the stomach and overcomes catarrhal conditions and usually accompanying constipation. Externally, Benetol displaces carbolic acid, bichlor- of mercury, hydrogen peroxide, and all other similar bodies which either have small value antiseptics or possess poisonous properties which render them dangerous to use and unsafe to Benetol has proven itself the most desirable preparation for the treatment of all germ dis- eases because it is the only effective chemical body known which may be used internally or ex- ternally in strengths indicated on label or booklet, which will easily kill germs of disease, and yet. will have absolutely no effect other than beneficial on the normal human body. The Benetol Preparations all contain BENETOL, the government tested, most effective, quick healing, modern, _ non-poisonous antiseptic and germicide. Throw out the poison bottles and tablets ‘from your home, use Benetol or any of the other Benetol Preparations for every ‘purpose where a healing agent is required, or where you need an antiseptic or germi- cide. It is now conceded by scientific investigators that fully 90 per cent of all disease and death is caused by germs. You can then readily understand the wide scope that Bene- ol has in the treatment of contagious diseases and infections. It takes the place of prac- ly all the first aid in your medicine chest.
