HE ROTTENEST LEGISLATURE EVER HAS ADJOURNED. T The record has been made. No honest person can read it without blushing for the good name of the state. IT REEKS WITH TREACHERY, DECEIT AND BETRAYAL OF THE PEOPLE. The legislature had meant to seize the very state itself for the selfish exploitation of a privileged handful of men. That it didn’t get away with everything it had planned was due to accident rather than to lack of design and intention. Not one single act of the legislature stands for a new and better deal for humanity. The record is filled with corpuration subservience and rottenness, with intent to cripple the freedom and rights of the average person. Trampling on mothers’ pensions and eight-hour laws and public employment bureaus, the legislature rushed to save a companies from the jitney buses. Aiming to kill the initiative, referendum and recall, the same legislature hoped to perpetuate the life of public utility mon- opolies. But the battle has only begun. Even as this is written, the referendum campaign against the jitney bus bill has started. A referendum against the referendum “amend- ments,” and the initiative and recall amendments” is also under way. The rotten legislative record has been written, but it is not sealed. The people still have the referendum power, AND IN THE NEXT 90 DAYS THEY MUST USE IT SWIFTLY, DECISIVELY AND EFFECTIVELY. ON WITH THE REFERENDUM BAT- TLE AGAINST THE OUTLAW BILLS! On an open field of battle between the people and Special Interests, the people need have no fear!
