Coast Construction Company MILLMADE This is the advertising sign of the Coast Construction Company, of 2500 First Ave., manufacturers of mill-made houses, garages and other frame buildings. These houses are designed by competent architects, either for stock or to special order, and are framed and partly built at the mill. The outside walls and all partitions are built at the mill. All joists and rafters are cut and fitted at the mill. The house is even set up at the mill, doors and windows are fitted; everything, in fact, that is practicable to do, is done at the mill. Then the house is taken down, the various built-up sections and parts numbered and labeled, and the entire house is then ready for delivery to the place where it is to be built. It reaches the ground with nearly 50 per cent of the carpenter work already done. Three or four days’ work, with an ordinary crew, and the house is ready for plastering. These houses are not the portable -house kind, neither do they look like it. They are double constructed, double floors, lath and plastered, and conform to the local building code in every respect. They are as good in every particular as the house that is all built on the grotind, and THEY COST LESS. We build these houses in Seattle on easy payments, If you own your lot, we can build a fine little five-room bungalow on it for less than half the price asked for the same amount of room in any modern apartment building in the city.
