A rare old prophesying fake, his counsel none despised, And long he boasted, lived and Hed, till he was paralyzed MADE in SEATTLE MANUFACTURING establishment is of interest and value to a community in pro- portion to its contribution to the material and moral welfare of that community. The largest brewing interests in the entire West are located in Seattle, and rep- resented by the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company, whose principal products are the fa- | mous Rainier Beer and Malt Rainier, a Pure Malt Tonic. These products have so grown in popularity that in their manufacture and distribution | hundreds of thousands of dollars are annually spent in Seattle, and hundreds of Seattle fami- lies are dependent entirely on the pay roll-of the brewing company for support. But while the economic aspect of the business is an important one, the moral aspect is even more so. At this time the “Temperance Question” is receiving much attention and discussion. Every right-minded man_ believes in temperance; it is only a question of the best means to the end. We believe it is a fact which cannot be successfully disputed, that the in- | creased consumption of beer is a very potent factor in bringing about the desired reform. | The National beverage of the German Nation is Beer; it has almost totally displacéd the more ardent spirits, and instead of having a ‘Temperance Question” to solve, they are known the world over as an industrious, sober and temperate people. We are glad to have contributed to the industrial and moral welfare of our city. We are justly proud of the reputation achieved by our products over a large part of the world, | and wherever sold they stand as an emblem of Purity and a factor for Health and Happiness.
