He has been a mew senger boy, cowboy, farm and dairy hand, lumber jack, deep sea sailor, roustabout and salesman. Of all the fighters in the ring, he has bad the most picturesque ca reer. He was born March 17, 1892, near Lincoln, Neb. He has always lived out of doors. His firet experience in the ring was in January, 1911, when he act od as a substitute at Culberton, Mont., agninet Walt Adama, heavy weight champion of Canada, whom he knocked out in the second round. His next victory was a knockout over Joe Grim, “The Iron Man.” He knocked out Carl Morris in six rounds at Spring field, Mo, on May 3, 1912. He knocked out Al Kaufman in the second round on October 12 of this year at San Francisco, His ring career has been « short one, but ho has never lost a battle.
