All Records Broken in Demand for“Preparation Made by C. M. C. Stewart. Year Since Introduced; Pharmacist Declares Not in Thirty Years’ Experience | Has Such Phenomenal Cry Been Raised as for Sulphurro —Glad It Is on Market. — BY F. W. STRANG. Sulphurro’s anniversary of first appearance in Seattle sees it the great medicinal success of the ite doubtful if any remedy was er discovered which accomplish- ed 20 much benefit for people in so Belden Main, in charge of the shipping department of the Brnst Bros. hardware store, at the cor ner of Sixth avenue and Pike street, is one of the most enthu- siastic indorsers of “Sulphurro.” To it he owes the fact that he is stronger and better today than he has been for years. Said Mr. Main: “Pot the last six years I have been suffering from rheumatism, ehis became particularly violent not jong ago and was aecompa- nied by 4 case of shingles, the nervous disease that fs so ¢x- cruciatingly painful and so often fatal. I was in bed 12 days, and most of the time was under the influence of opiates, not being able to stand the pain. “Riding on an Alki Point car one day I fell into conversation with a stranger. “What you need, said he, ‘is Mr. Stewart's Liquid Sulphur Preparation.’ ““Never heard of Sowart or his medicine,’ I replied. and all were positive in their state- ments as to the ben results obtained.” J. E. Yerkes, manager of the Bar- tell drug stores, authorizes the fol- lowing statement: Up to Made-in-Seattie Standard. “The sale of Sulphurro with us has been very large, and from testi- monials we have seen it surely seems to have merit. In fact, it ap- pears to have all the best points that a ‘Made-in-Seattle’ product should have.” “The demand fot, Sulphurro is breaking all records,” said the man- ager of the Quaker drag stores. “It! is proving to be a wonder, especially “But I immediately got from Mr. Stewart a tenounce bottle of Liquid Sulphur (Sulphurro), to Sive it a trial, At first I didn't like it and took only one or two drops of It. Then I went back to my oid medicines, “These did me no more good than before, I euffered great pain, mny joints were stiff and I Was a wreck. “Then my daughter urged me to try Bulphurro again, declaring she was convinced it would cure me if 1 would follow directions. #0 many others had profited by its use. “I went back to Sulphurro and Increased the dose slightly. In weven days I was perfectly well, Not an ache or # pain was left, and my rheumatism had disap- peared entirely. All the effects of the shingles went with it.” Mr. Main urges all bis ailing friends to try Sulphurro, in the Sincere belief that it is a true benefactor of mankind. Sulphurro is proving not only a j great success at home, where drug: | gists cannot order It fast enough to meet requirements, but its use is ‘epreading throughout the United States, and foreign countries are calling for the remarkable prepara tion, Within the Inst week new orders have come from London and a woman has ordered a bot- tle sent to her in the south of France; another consignment is on its way to Buenos Aires, in the Argentine; a bottle bas been sent on the 13,000-mile journey to Athens, Greece, and a Pacific ner i carrying some of Mr. Stewart's medicine across to Japan. Neither Seattle nor the Pacific coast ever saw such eagerness dis- played for any sort of a medicinal preparation, Mr. Stewart thought the demand wag remarkably heavy before he put his Liquid Compound of Sulphur on the market, a little Jess than a month ago, but the won- derful curative power of Sulphurro has been so woll demonstrated that the plant is taxed to its capacity to turn out the preparation fast enough. Thousands of Bottles Daily. Seattle druggists, both whole- sale and retail, dectare there never was 4 preparation in their history so much in demand, Frequently they double and treble their orders before the C, M. C. Stewart Sulphur Company has time to make deliver- jes, Daily orders for Sulphurro run into the thousands of bottles, Said the manager of the Swift pharmacies yesterday: “I desire to state that during my entire experience in the drug bust- ness, covering a period of some 30 years, I can recall no other prepara- tion that has had the remarkable sale of Sulphurro. “There have been times in our store when three clerks have been engaged in wrapping up Sulphurro for waiting customers. I have talk- ed personally with a number of hese purchasers, many of whom t . ore previously tested the remedy, “I never knew such a success as Sulphurro. People fairly besiege us to learn its merits and to buy it. We have not before, to my knowl- edge, had anything like the demand that there ts for Suiphurro. I doubt if even Mr. Stewart and his asso ciates realize what a wonderful preparation they have. “Bat the most cheering part of it im that the stories of cures wrought by Sulphurro were not exaggerated. In fact, we can know of only one case cured where there probably are ten cures that never come to our attention or to the attention of the public. I have taken occasion to talk with many who are buying new supplies of Sulphurro, and they all tell the same story of rheuma- tiem, goltre, diabetes, dropsy, skin aliments, blood affections, stomach trouble—all improving or cured, de- pending on the length of time they have been taking the medicine. Glad Sulphurro ts on Market, “The great majority, too, are pleased that Mr, Stewart has put his discovery on the market, for they felt it was a great imposition upon him to be called upon to donate thousands of dollars’ worth of it to persons he had perhaps never seen before—and yet they actually need- ed the medicine.” : These statefients show how Sul- phurro is taking hold, yet it fs inter- esting to look back a brief period at the skepticism with which many of the druggists met Mr. Stewart's announcement that he intended to make Sulphurro to sell to the pub- le. “You have a hard row to hoe when you try to place something new like that before the public,” said one, “We'll take some of {t on consignment,” said most of them, “but we won't buy It direct.” Within two or three days after Sulphurro was actually on the mar- ket there was no more talk of con signment, “Send us More, More, More,” was the chorus. Now both Mr, Stewart and the druggists are pleased. are read by thousands daily, one of the Ad Club boosters, said yest: that for the first time in fifteen years he was free from aches and pains, thanks to Suiphurro. He had been @ great sufferer from rheumatism, ee ineih feet. ‘Tm ike a fighting cock,” he declared. : One of the “make-up” men in « large down town composing room suffered so severely trom imflam- matory rheumatiam last year that he almost went mad from pata. Tf I thought I had to go through that experience again,” he said the other day, “I'd rather quit this life right here, But I don’t think there's any danger. Mr. Stewart several months ago gave me some of his Liquid Sulphur preparation, and al most before I knew it my pains were gone. It is truly a wonderful remedy, and for the rest of my life I will be grateful to its discoverer. For Asthma and Sore Throat. “My wife has been a great suf ferer, too; but her trouble was asthma. Sulphurro drove that away in short order. I never knew such a remedy for throat troubles, Sore thront and tonsilitis it will cure over night. We have used it re peatedly for such troubles by gar sling it in hot water, and placing a Sulphurro - soaked flannel cloth about the neck.” Mr. Stewart is daily giving his personal attention to the making of Sulphurro. He promised the public that the bottles on sale in the drug stores would be as carefully pro pared and as good in every par ticular as were those he gave away all last year at his own home, wher nearly 400 persona visited his house in one day for his discovery. He is enlarging the facilities in his laboratory as rapidly as possible in order to meet the tremendous de- mand. Two carloads of bottles were delayed in arriving, but temporary relief was gained by # special ship ment by express from San Fran- cisco,
