Who gives himself, with his alma feeds three— Himself, his hungering neighbor and Me.-Lowell, Tell It to Saint Anthony Comstock LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23.--Tell this one to “Saint” Anthony Com- stock: Denuded of every pin feather, tail feather and the like, a 15-pound turkey, very much alive, which had escaped the Thankagiving ax, posed this afternoon “in the altogether” on a counter in front of Judge Cham- bers’ bench, mutely pleading for vengeance against the culprits who had robbed him of his natural covering. The sight of the nude bird tickied the sibilities of Judge Cham- bers to such an extent that he had to leave the bench for a few minutes, but whenrhe returned his face was hard and set. “Who dared pluek this great American bird in such a manner?” de- manded the court. “We did, your honor,” meekly responded P. Ferrais and Walter Yost, poultry deaiers. After fining the two men $110 for cruelty to anima bers asked the police matron to sew the bird up in a Judge Cham- jannel suit.
