Put 2 ounces of lemon syrup, 2 sprigs of mint and a dash of Ja maica ginger into {t; shake well and then pour into a glass, adding a dash of soda just before serving. Champagne Velvet Take 1 ounce of crabapple syrup, 4 ounces of orange cider, a dash of cream and a dash of lime juice; stir well, Jand then fill the glass with soda jand serve. LEMON A WHITENER A slice of lemon put into the copper when boiling clothes, it ts said, will make them beautifully white and will remove all stains from handkerchtofs and children’s clothes, Cut the lemon with the rind into slices and allow It to re- main in the boiler until the clothes if re ready to come out.
