Do you know that you will have an opportunity to vote for or against the issue of these $800,000 bonds on next Tuesday? Do you know that if they are issued they will have to be followed by other large issues to complete the project, thus increasing Seattle’s debt by much more than $800,000? Do you know that $800,000 would only be a very small part of the money necessary to carry out the plans con- nected with the proposed purchase of the Seattle, Renton & Southern? Do you know that if Seattle bought the Seattle, Renton & Southern it would surely lose money on it every year and that these losses would have to be paid out of taxes? Do you. know that the taxpayers would be liable for damages if any one was hurt in an accident? Do you know that it would cost the taxpayers $50,000 a mile to pay for pav- ing now done by the private owners? Do you know that city ownership would increase Special Assessments by putting on the taxpayers heavy expenses now paid by the street railway owners? Do you know that city-owned street railways have been a failure wherever they have been tried? Do you know that it is your duty to vote against street railway bonds? A iheaitnaitibiiemiikkmamenre ee
