Here are the facts: 1, The civilized world must have steel in ever increasing quantities. It is indispen- sable in all large building operations. The demand often exceeds the supply for a time, and _ steel stocks and the market price of steel and iron are steadily and permanently dvancing. : 2. The only big steel mills on the entire Pacific Coast are now under construction at IRONDALE, There can never be any other steel mills on the Coast save on Puget Sound, as all of the ore deposits are here and the IRONDALE Steel Company owns prac- tically all of the known soft ore deposits on the Sound. 3. Actual tests and assays have proved that the IRONDALE Steel Company's ores make the finest grade of steel. They are vastly superior to nearly all the Eastern ores, and compare favorably with the Norway ores, which set the standard of the world. 4. The IRONDALE steel mills will have a perpetual and exclusive steel market—the entire Pacific Coast, from Alaska to Mexico. Why? Because the transcontinental railroads have to charge an average freight tariff of $16.00 per ton on all the Eastern iron and steel products brought to the Coast, constituting an eternal handicap, other things being equal, in favor of the steel turned out at IRONDALE. The transportation charges nearly double the cost of all Eastern steel and iron products laid down here. 5. While the IRONDALE Steel Company will pay the highest wages known in the steel and iron industry in this country, the cost of the raw materials, by reason of the fact that they are owned by the company and on a short water haul to the plant, will be so much less than Pittsburg has to pay for the same, that the cost of production here, per ton, will average but little higher than that of the Eastern product at the factory. Hence, the IRON- DALE plant can sell its product at any point on the Pacific Coast at a vastly cheaper price than the same grade of Eastern product can be laid down here, and still make the most sub- stantial profit on every ton of iron and steel that leaves the pier at Irondale. Now, to sum up, with a clear field, inexhaustible raw materials, an exclusive market, and an eternal tariff of $16.00 per ton in its favor, what will the steel plant at Irondale do? Your common sense tells you that it will grow steadily, that its output and its army of workmen will increase mightily as the years go by, and that it will not be many years before this is reckoned as the leading industrial enterprise of the Pacific Northwest. All who get in touch with Irondale in any shape or form at this time will profit heavily by it. Your op- portunity is at hand in connection with our platting of the townsite of Irondale, immediate- ly joining the steel works. Here the army of employes will make their homes, and a city will spring up as if by magic, with the beginning of operations at the steel plant on Oc- tober 1. The work of building the city has already begun. Lots in Irondale remain on our plats at the original and, as yet, unadvanced quotation: Residence lots, $100 to $200. The time for you to act is now. Every lot in IRONDALE will double in value with the beginning of operation next October. : : Moore Investment Company Rooms 400-410 Arcade Annex
