The Alaska Home Railway represents an earnest movement upon the part of the people to construct and operate an independent railroad to the interior. Practically every man, woman and child in Valdez and vicinity has taken stock in subscriptions ranging from $1.00 to $10,000. There are no promotion shares, no construction profits and every dollar is being economically expended in building a first-class narrow gauge electric road. The railroad will earn large profits from the outset because of the tremendous freight tonnage going into the interior of Alaska.
