Inventory is just completed and we find thousands of dollars’ worth of goods that will be most attractive to you, but which are undesirable to us from our point of view on ac- count of their being broken lines, odd lots, remnants and goods that are slightly soiled and mussed. This accumulation has been greatly added to because of the extraordinary and unprecedented increase in our busi- ness during the past few months. During the rush there was no time to go through the different depart- ments and locate the odd lots, remnants and broken lines, but our annual inventory just completed has brought. everything to the surface, and we find that the amount involved in the aggregate is so large that it requires the most radical price reductions on our part to dispose of the goods at once before the bulk of our new fine stock arrives. Aving to the freight blockade we had a short breathing spell after Christmas, but now the new goods are pouring in on us so fast that we will require every available inch of space in the store for the display of new 1907 goods within the next 10 days. Some of the goods offered are slightly soiled and mussed, and there are others that have been splendid sellers, but the lines are broken now and what is left must join the procession at any price they will bring. Then there are odd lots and temnants of all kinds of goods that will look good to you and that are worth every penny: of the original price---good, clean up-to-date merchandise. But to clean up fall stocks and make ready for spring, we deem it advisable to offer them to you at reductions ranging from one-quarter to one-half less than our regular prices. To cap the climax and to fix this sale in your memory for years to come we shall also offer at the same time, several thousand dollars’ worth of the most a oods—such as Sheetings, Pillow Casing, Crash, Bleached and che Unblea Cottons, Apron Ginghams, Linens, etc, at less than mill prices Sale commences Saturday morning, January 26, and lasts for one week, but we cannot guarantee that the lots will last.
