Shares to Be Advanced Any Day Five weeks ago, when the stock of the Alaska Central Rail- |way was put upon the market, it was the expectation of the com- pany that stock enough would be sold the first month to equip jtwo surveying parties. Instead of that, orders came in at such a rate from all over the state and from all over the United States that three survey- jing parties were speedily equipped and are now in the field, and money is in the Puget Sound National Bank today for the jequipment of the remaining two parties. They will sail on the next boat that leaves Seattle for Res- lurrection Bay. The people who purchased the preferred stock have thor- loughly investigated the route and informed themselves as to the resources tributary to it. Government reports made by disinterested officers of the geological survey give detailed information in support of the information supplied by our own engineers and by hundreds of prospectors who have been over all that country, The route of the Alaska Central is the only feasible route for a trunk line railway from the southern coast of Alaska to the interior on the Yukon River. It is the only route support timber, copper, agricultural possibilities, and thousands of acres of grazing lands for stock raising. The period of doubt in the affairs of the Alaska Central ay is passed. It is now an absolute certainty. The stock, selling for the present at $6 per share is liable to be increased without notice any day. The par value of the shares is $50, and every share will go to par just as soon as the bonds are floated. The small block of preferred stock being sold is merely to bear the expense of the permanent survey this summer and do some incidental work necessary to the fl ating of bonds. Under the Alaskan code, passed by Congress in 1898, the )Alaska Central Railway is entitled to eighty acres of land for ja terminal city at Resurrection Bay, 80 acres at the northern terminal, and 20 acres every ten miles along the route for town sites. The value of these town sites alone will be more than $2, 000,000, All of them are being taken in the name of the company, and the profits derived from them will go to the stockhold- ers direct. This is purely a Seattle enterprise, headed by the most en- |terprising business men in the city. Put in your orders at once, Read the prospectus.
