Of these orders, one is for 1009 automobiles for the Milinela Niectric Vehicle and Trans. portation company, the corporation which will have its headquarters in Chicago. The electric parts and machinery for the Chicago vehicles will not be manufacturers by the Studebaker company, only the body of the vehi- cles. The Siemens-Halske company, of this city, which is seen to come under control of the Mlineis com- pany, a to manufacture the lectric parte. ‘The work of locating the charging Plants at points convenient to the general routes of travel commenced yesterday under the supervision of Martin Maloney, manager for the Whitney-Whener-Eikins syndicate, which controls the Illinois Electric Vehicle company. Recharging wil! have to be done for about every twenty miles of travel of the cate. ‘Those now operating in New York city with so much success are re- charged every 20 miles.
