SPECIAL DISPATCH TO THE CALL. NEW YORK, June 22.—Rendered a paralytic by the disaster in San Fran- cisco and robbed by a pickpocket an hour after he arrived at the Grand Central station, John Lyons, 25 years old, staggered into the East Fifty-first street police station, fainting from ex- haustion, and asked Sergeant Ennls to take care of him until he could get into communication with twe cousins, at- torneys of this city. Unable to utter two consecutive words on account of his candition, he made his réquest in the following letter, which he banded to the sergeant: #'Gentlemen—The bearer of this came to.the city this evening from San Fran- cisco. I lost my wallet containing $13, and am foreced to ask shelter for the night, as I cannot walk the streets in the condition I am in. I have cousins in this ecity. Unfortunately they have & summer home on Long Island and it s impossible to reach them now.” After much effort the visitor told the sergeant that before the earth- quake and fire in San Francisco he was strong and healthy. The morning of the disaster a ceiling and walls fell upon him and he remained under the ruins until dragged out by rescuers and placed in a hospital. A week ago he gathered his funds and clothing and started to New York, having been told that the rm of his life he would lt on his right side hnln' bhad an offer of aid from relatives in Boston. ———— EMPLOYES OF STEEL TRUST MUST NoOoT ACC'IPI' PRESENTS wn—lwnflq-n-b- tion of a New Rule Made by the Corporation.
