Dr. Jordan took time to state that he held the discharged editor in the highest esteem, but that inasmuch as he stood in the way of the Student Af- fairs Committee he must be ramoved. He then proceeded to lay down the pol- icy that is to be followed. He said: Now I wish to lay down a few laws In & modest, unassuming way. Hazing must stop, the right of every student to his room and body must be observed. This is a comparatively free institution. You are given more here than in any Eastern col- lege, and the governing body of the taculty must be untrammeled. Men are prone not o appreciate the free education which they ve- cefve here. You must believe that others who ars in a position to know do know better than you what is good for these men. If they wish to carry on a running fight they must leave the hall. He closed his address with the hope that conditions would be improved de- spite the turmoil that had arisen from the dismissal of Allen Allen, the dismissed editor, declares that, basing his appeal on the right of every man to exercise a reasonable freedom of discussion, he will carry his case to the board of trustees of the in- stitution. Allen will ask for a full hearing. The ex-editor is still upon the campus and is busily engaged in at- tempting to bring the matter to a de- cision. st e S WOULD CHANGE HAZING BILL.
