The first lpthen!lc news of Webber's safety was recelved here this afternoon in a telegram dated at Westport and signed by Jesse Brunk of this city. Brunk departed trom Santa Rosa several days since to visit a sick relative in Northern Mendocing County, and prior to his departure he an- nouriced his intention of making a search for the missing man. During all the time of his reporged dis- appearance Webber has been enjoying the best of health and has been putting in his time hunting deer, totally oblivious of the alarming reports which were being circu lated regarding him. Brunk had not seen his friend when he telegraphed the news of his safety from the wilds of Mendocino County, but he had authoritative news on ihe subject and declared he would spend Sunday in camp with his friend. The news of Webber's disappearance was brought to this city from Covelo by George Squires.
