CAPTAIN KALB DIES AT SEA Schooner Falcon Arrives With Her Flag at Half Mast. All That Remains of the Progreso Is Beached at Black Point. The schooner Falcom, from Port Or- ford, bound for San Pedro, put into this port yesterday with her flag at half mast owing to the death of Captain Kolb, her master. On the morning of the third day out Captain Kalb was found dead in his stateroom. He was 65 years of age and a native of Germany. He had been suffer- ing from a severe attack of asthma, and it was expected that he would not live to complete the voyage. Panama Steamer Arrives. The Pacific Mail steamship Costa Rica, from Panama, arrived at her dock at 7:30 o'clock last Saturday night, being three days ‘over- ing San Blas strong head winds and a rough eea hindered her progress and it was necessary to put in at Port Los Angeles for an extra supply of coal.
