RIS S ROME, April 21.—Nothing s known at - the British embassy here. or in official circles concerning the report that the health of King Edward is unsatisfactory. The King Is expected to arrive in Na- ples at a late hour to-morrow. He will not land there, nor will-he see Sir Fran- cis Bertle, the British Embassador to Italy, until Thursday. The Embassador will go to Naples to-morrow. ‘With regard to the report that the cere- monies attending King Edward’'s recep- tien in Rome will be curtalled, it will be impossible to curtail them, as no pro- gramme has been arranged. Knowledge of King Edward’s desire is awaited be- fore doing so. For the same reason all arrangements regarding the King's visit to the Pope are mere fabrications. The Eritish embassy and the Vatican as yet know nothing at all in this respect. The Archbishop of Malta has informed the Vatican that he did his best to pre- sent the advisability of a meeting be- tween the sovereign of Great Britain and the head of Catholicism, adding that he received no assurance tHat this meeting would or would not occur. In the meantime, preparations to re- ceive King Edward are progressing in various directions. The streets the King is expected to traverse are being richly decoratéd with red venetian masts, gar- lands of laurel and myrtle and large vases containing fruit and flower trees thirty feet high. — SALT LAKE, Utah, April 21.—Dr. ¥. ‘W.
