Kavanaugh gave chase when the runaway horse gained the main driveway, but was unable to bring it to a halt until it had run as far as Oak and Baker streets. Investigation showed that the horse w being driven by Adolph Schmidt, a gla. blower residing at 1205 Howard street. Schmidt had removed the bridle that ihe | animal might graze and tied it to a post at the corner of Nineteenth avenue and N street. A passing automobi ened the horse and it snapped its halter and ran away.
