HEEL The people of San Francisco will go have enough on hand to carry through tiil noontime, when they may be able to add to their diminishing stores at the corner groceries. At midnight the milk wagon drivers of this city went on strike and refused after 2 heated meeting to deliver even one small bottle to a private individual or a can to the restaurants till their griev- ances were settled. The trouble is that the bosses will not recognize the unions and are hiring out- side help. The milkers are still at work, o the | big restaurants in the city can still have their milk delivered to them, but the bosses will have to drive the wagons and deliver the goods. Many of the big cafes and restaurants are well supplied and can stand the lac- teal drought till noon to-day, but after that—chaos. The restaurateurs shrug their shoulders and say: “The heads of the companies will have to deliver us our milk.” And so the matter rests. Householders who have no milk on hand must drink their tea and coffee this morning without milk or borrow from their more fortunate nelghbors. California Colonist Rates.
