BAKERSFIELD, Dec. 24—A Santa Fe freight train morning south of Bakersfield on the joint track of the Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific. Several cars were ditched and the track torn up for 300 feet, delaying traffic for seven hours. The south-bound Owl was held for six hours in Bakersfield. SANTA ROSA, Dec. 24.—After disposing of a load of turkéys with which he had been sent to market by his employer, ‘Willam Mason began a little holiday cel- ebration this morning. He was later on taken into custedy for drunkenness and was about to be fined by City Recorder Bagley, when an outsider informed the court that the money on Mason’s person did not belong to him but to his employ- er. The court was in a dilemma, but upon the prisoner acknowledging that the money did not belong to him it was con- fiscated to be held in trust for the owner.
