Hartshorn of Boston chair- man of the executive committee, and the executive committee later re-elected Ma- rion Lawrence of Toledo, Ohio, general secretary of the association, and George R. Merrill, D. D., secretary of the com- mittee. The executive committee also appointed a committee to find a suitable person to act as field worker among the colored people of the South.
