CROSETT & C0., 434 Sutter. WANTED— MACHINISTS AND HANDY MEN TO KNOW THAT THE _MACHINISTS' STRIKE Js PRACTICALLY OVER. . ALL SHOPS RUNNING AS USUAL. ‘The machinists’ strike that has been on In the principal Denver shops since October is now practically broken, as the shops are running with non-union men and only about 25 per cent of the strikers remain in town, walking the streets. s The victory claimed by the strikers at the Colorado_Iron Works Company is in reality a defeat. The men went out for a nine-hour day, Whereas this is the very point not conceded by the Colorado Tron Works Company. A number of the old men from the Colorado Iron Works Company were selected by the management ana offered indi{idually their old positions, if they would work the hours per day stipulated by the manufacturers, and conform to their shop rules and regulations. Mulberry, who is conducting the strike, op- posed t| s and a stormy meeting followed, un- en demanded that they be allowed to return or withdraw from the union. To make the appearance of a victory and prevent a loss of more men, the union were obliged to sanc- tien the return of these men, hence the mis- leading report in the daily papers. This strike has demonstrated two things: That the majority of first-class men are f men and will not be bound by arbitrary unions, and that the Denver Machinery Manufacturers are organized as a unit to resist the unjust, | unreasonable, unbusinesslike and arbitrary de- mands of organized lahor. THE DENVER MACHIN%RY MANUFAC- EASY chanc make money: the best propo- sition on the market: $2 to $10 easily earned daily: no experience necessary: be vour own boss and_start business on a capital of from 60c to $20; come and see for yourself the eagy gellers I have. The following extract from report of worlk done to January 22 Is of interest to share- holders and others. The full report will be matied on request: “TACOMA. Wash., Jan. “Owing to the lateness of the season, we established camp on the eastern side of our property and built a mile of trall. We have a comfortable camp—bunkhouses, cookhouse, toolhouse, and will scon have a stable with accommodations for 15 horses. * * * We have driven one entry 44 feet through hard rock, but are now into a eofter rock, which is a sort of gangue between the country Tock and the vein. This entry s beins driven to reach a vein of ore which shows over 100 feet on the surface, and gave an assay of $12 80 per ton, principally gold. This vein can be traced for 2000 feet through the ‘Stray Beauty Extension’ and 'Lourette’ claims. We confidently expect to reach this vein ten feet from the end of our present | workings, We have commenced a new entry 100 feet lower on the vein above mentioned, and are in 15 feet. We expect to reach the vein about 40 feet from the beginning of the tunnel. There is also a_large vein of goid- bearing quartz on the ‘Stray Beauty’ which we shall endeavor to open as Soon as eir- cumstances will permit. This vein is well defined, is 60 feet wide, and runs parallel to the one on which we are now working. There s also a large vein visible on the ‘Ben G'. clalm, another on the ‘Sulphide,’ and a five-foot vein on the ‘Ruby Jewel." All these veins can be worked from our present camp. The veins referred to _are gold-beering quartz. On the ‘Minne Bay,’ “Lawten’ and ‘Mountain Chief' claims are several large veins of copper ore. None of these latter claims can be opened now ow- ing _to the snow. “It is the intention of the Syndicate to in- stall a power piant for drills as scon as a sufficlent quantity of rich ore hes been opened to admit of shipping. * * * Tt g5 only a question of emergetic and systematic development work when our properties will show great mineral wealth. “R. E. McFARLAND, President.” PRICES WILL GO UP. PRICES WILL GO UP. PRICES WILL GO UP. ‘When the second’ tunnel above refsrred to reaches the vein the Company will be ware ranted in-making_a sharp advance in the rice of shares. ~While the present rate is gc ‘cash or 6c on instaliments, we reserve the right to withdraw these quotations withe out notice.
