Before End of This Year. The syndicate which last week pur- chased .the North Pacific Coast Ralilroad took _possession of its newly acquired | property yesterday. George H. Fairchild, | the newly appointed manager, spent a busy day across the bay inspecting the workings of the road and the rolling stock. The papers of incorporation have not as yet been filed, but they will be in a few |3 | days. With this legal step taken the North Pacific Coast Railroad will be a thing of the past, and the new corporation ! will-be known as the North Shore Rail- road. | The board of directors has not as yet | announced the fact, but John Martin will | be president of the company. Almost every ‘comimuter on the Southern Pacific tines knew P. Barry, and his genial face will'be missed by many. For about thirty years he worked around the. ferries, and the railroad never had a more faithful servant. He was taken ill' a few days ago and passed away early Sunday morn- ing. - The” Batchelder brothers made a great killing of ducks on the bay last Sunday.
