REDWOOD CITY, March 20.—TheSouth- ern Pacific Rallroad Company has com- menced an action against James Crowe, as the administrator of the estate of Au- gusta Appolt, to condemn a plece of land thirty feet wide and two hundred and !lxt¥l feet long in this city. The strip is on the west side of the railroad track and g%rnllel with the dpresem right of way. oRe land 1s desired for double track pur- es. This is the second action of the kind commenced in San Mateo County, the first being against A. P. Johnson of Bel- mont. Unless property owners and the rallroad company can arrive at satisfac- tory terms a number of similar suits will be commenced.
