President Charles M. Hays of the South- ern Pacific Railroad has replied to the petition of the ofl men of Kern County, who asked for more oil cars to transport | their petroieum to the market. Hays addrecced his answer to the Rall- | road Commissioners, and in the letter he gives his views on the matter. He says he is aware of the fact that there are not enough oil cars to handle the product, but that he sees no reason why the oil busi- ness ®hould be at a standstill and_the wells shut down for lack of cars. Hays suggests that inore tanks should be erect- | ed along the railroad tracks. With these tanks adjacent to them it should not be necessary for the wells to be closed down. In his letter Hays also says that the Southern Pacific Railroad Company fully realizes the value of this new industry and that oih cars are bclnE procured as fast as possible, He says that 500 new ofl tank cars are being constructed as rap- {dly as possible and that the delivering of | them will be commenced April 1. In con- clusion Hays says: I trust that, when the cars ordered and in process, of construction are in service, there will be no further cause of complaint on the part of the shippers. The Yosemite Valley season openS on March 28. The Southérn Pacific Railroad Company will on that day filnce sleeping cars on the run between Raymond and this city, and also between Los Angeles and Raymond. The railroad officlals claim that from present indications more visitors will journey to the Yosemite Val- ley this year than during any previous season. | UPON BANNING'S FIGHT DEPENDS McKINLEY'S | Three-Cornered Contest for the Posi- THIS YEAR. Mrs. Eisenhafer had tried everything during her three years' sickness and had spent considerable money. She was weak and could hardly get about for three years Y WINE=CARDU Now after taking the Wine she can work with her husband in the hay ficld. That is hard work, but it is not as injurious to a woman’s health as labor in stores, fac- tories and offices where thousands of girls are closely confined year after year. With the aid of Wine of Cardui a woman can do any reasonable work and enjoy health. The health that Wine of Cardui brings makes a woman vigorous in body and mind. mmmwfimmspmmmgmmwmsm Wine of Cardui regulates the dsordered menstruation and cures leucorrhcea, falling of the womb and pgriodical pains in the head and back caused by standing or sitting a long time in the same position. Thedford's Black- Draught puts the bowels, stomach, liver, kidneys and blood in proper shape. Greatly increased strength and endurance is the natural result. Most cases are cured quickly. Al druggists sell $1.00 bottles of Wine of Cardui and 25 cent packages of Thedford’s Black-Draught.
