There is @ very sharp demand for money, the bank having complete control of the market. Call money ranged from 4 to 7 per cent: time loans 4 per cent, while the bank loaned largely at 5 per cent. to have been some weakening in the West in certain quarters, but holders as a rule are still firm and are talking much higher prices than those which rule at the seaboard. The sales for the week In Boston amounted to 4,281,800 pounds domestic and 355,000 pounds foreign, making a total of 4636800 pound: against a total of 3,989,400 pounds for the pre: vious week.
