During the southwester the Cromartyshire had to run under poles, and even then the crew say tw were lucky to escape. The Cromartyshire is a vessel with a history. She i5 the ship_that ran down or was run into by the French liner La Bourgogne in the Atlantic about three years ago. On that occasion there was & terrible loss of ifa =08 the ty- shi ed by her bulkh compartments. She reached port ln a crippled condition with many of La Bourgogneé's passengers and crew aboard and wag later repaired and put in commission. This is her sec- ond voyage since the disaster and she is once more in trouble. The cargo will be more evenly distributed and the Cro m:’_nyshln will again sall “for Cork for orders."
