ALEXANDER G. McADIE, Forecast Official. —_—— B +* EASTERN MARKETS. —lf New York Stock Market. NEW YORK, Nov. 2.—To-day's stock mar- ket was the dullest sihce the Monday preced- ing the election. There were no dealings on any considerable scale and the movement of prices was sluggish and irregular and not im- portant. Fhe market narrowed very considera- bly, the number of different stocks dealt in being smaller than for many days past. It is not improbable that to-morrow’s holi pro- moted ihe curtallment of speculative ventures. The dealings were left very largely in the hands of room traders and the larger interests and the public Were apparently out of the mar- ket entirely. There wi no great pressure of liquidation, but when any considerable volume of stocks was offered there was not sufficient demand to sustain .the price. On the other hand even small demand was sufficient 10 ef- fect a considerable mdvance in price, as the meiling orders in the market were aiso on a Very small scale. BOSTON, Nov. 2.—The American Wool and Cotton Reporter will say of the wool trade to- merrow: Tke wool market has been rather more active the past week. There has been considerable quiet loocking around for all classes of wool and the demand has been strictly for consump- tion. Reasonable prices have been offered and | X larger business would probably have been transacted had it not been for the extremely unfavorable weather, which has militated against an_active demand for | #00ds. Advices from the West continue to in- | icate a vory bullish feeling. Owners of wool continue to hold it at highgprices. Prices are naturally in favor of the buyer, aithough there | ia no pressure to sell wool, and ‘quotations are unckanged. ‘The sales this week in Boston amounted to 4.175.800 pounds domestic and 550,000 pounds for- | elgn. making a total of 4.725,500, against a | total of 3.452.000 for the previous week and a | total of 13,915,000 for the corresponding week last vea The sales since pounds, against responding time 1 Chicago Livestock Market.
