LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24—The 2:10 pace was the exciting event in the harness races to-day, Little Thorne, the favorite, winning in straight heats. Jennie Mc looked good to the knowing ones, but after the first heat there was nothing but Little Thorne money, and he became a prohibitive favorite. He entirely out- classed his company and won the race in heats under a puil. The 2:2 class trot was easily captured by Venus II, who so completely out- classed her opponents that little or no in- terest was taken in the event. Alaria, a 2 to 5 favorite, won the selling race at a mile and a sixteenth. Carrect took first money in the six furlongs sprint, Tom Smith being a close second. Both | horses were even money in the betting. In the five-eighths of a mile Ned Den- nis, at 7 to 10, was heavily played by the wise ones, but Steel Diamond, an 8 to 1 chance, picked up remarkable speed in the | stretch and flnlsi\ed first, beating Cowboy by a length.
