Time of the Evening Train Material- ly Shortened. An innovation on the San Francisco and orth Pacific Railroad w: inaugurated sterday which will bring relief to the through passengers on that line. Here- tofore train 16, which reaches San Fran- | cisco at 6:20 p. m., has stopped at every little way station to take on milk, and | this constant stopping and _consequent delay have been a source of much an- noyance to the patrons. Yesterday this was all changed, and now No. 16 comes through from Petaluma with but three stops and time has been shortened twenty minutes from Ukiah, the train leaving that point at 1:20 instead of 12:40 o’clock as before. A special milk train runs from Ignacio and relieves the regular passen- ger train of the burden. A special is also run from Tiburon to San Rafael ahead of No. 9, which leaves at 2:30 p. m. This change was nec tated by the greatly increased travel over the scenic road dur- ing the summer and will be especially pleasing to the devotees of golf who go to the links at Wagners. —————— Lecture by “Ian Maclaren.” Dr. John Watson, “Tan Maclaren,” who will give a farewell lecture at Sherman, Clay & Co.’s hall on Friday afternoon at half-past 8 o’clock, is the pastor of Sefton Park Church in Liverpool, England, the finest church In that city, and that is con- stantly crowded by one of the largest and most influential congregations in ali Eng- Jand.
