Yesterday a few arrived from Tennessee and Colorado. Private Johnson, who for the past week has boen an inmate at the French Hospital, was materially improved yesterday, much to the 4oy of the ladies of the soclety and residents of Anahelm, whose representative he is. The town has alded the young man during his dangerous illness with funds and delicacies. The State representatives in this city have kept them well Informed by letter and wire of his condition. Mrs. Harrington yesterday recelved a very beautiful letter from Johnson’s sweetheart, who is now East, in which she pours out her thanks to_all for their kindness to her betrothed. When the State soctety holds its big meeting’ next week it is expected that representatives. from all portions of the State will attend and tell of the work that is being done in all por- tions of the country. It 1is said ‘an. effort will be made to complete arrangements for the purchase or charter of & hospital ship for ser- vice in Manila.
