The discovery of the burgiary was made by M. J. The El Capi- tan left Baltimore for San Francisco 223 days ago with a carzo of coal for John Rosenfeld’s Sons. She arrived in port July 26 and it took a month to get herin trim to proceed on her vovace. September 1 another start was made and all went well for atime. Another gale, worse than any one previously en- countered, struck the ship and she went on her beam ends. The decks were swept of everything movable and three of the crew were washed overboard.
