The Objects of the Organiza- tion Are to Uplift the Workingman, Destitute and Homeless Children to Become Workers for Hu- manity. A branch of the International Brother- hood League, which was organized in New York a few months ago, is to be es- tablished in this eity. Tue lollowing are the avowed objects of the league: First—To help workingmen to rcalize the nebility of thelr calling and their true posi- tion in life. Second—To educate children of all nations on the broadest lines of universal brother- Liood. and to prepare destitute and homeless chi'dren lo become workers for humanity. Third—To ameliorate the condition of un- fortunate women and assist tiem to a bigher Itfe. Fourth—To assist those who are or have been in prisons to establisa themseives in honor- able positions in lile. Fiftn—To endeavor to abolisn capital pun- | ishment. S.xti—710 bring about a better understand- ing between sc-cailed savage and civilized races by promoiing a closer and more sym- pithetic relationsnip between them. Seventh—To relieve humean suffering result- ing from flood, famine, wer and other eslami- ties; and genernly 10 exiend aid, belp and comiort to suffering humanity throughout the worid. Mrs. M. M. Thirds heartily indorses the movement. She says: *“The Interna- tional Brotherhood League is wholly un- sectarian. It aims to draw into closer union the scattered workers for humanity, and especially to provide a means where- by people of any or of no religious belief may co-operate for the general gcod. It is eaid to be in a measure an outgrowth ot the theosophical crusade around the world, as its organization was due to Mrs. Katherine A. Tingley, who led that movemen:, and who, from experience gathered in all countries, was convirced that an international effort of this kind was not only possible but highly desir- able. However, this league has no official connection with the Theosophical Society. “It is simpiy another effort on more general tuan hitherto adopted to put into practical application the belief 1n brothertiood.” Dr. Jerome A. Anderson, fhe leading spirit o! the movement, in discussing it yesterday said: from a practical standpoint. We want to show the workingmen the nobility of the:r ca:ling. Asitis now wezith and vossessions are worshiped. This is all wrong, for there is dignity to labor. We hope, however, 10 w.n the rich to work with us. We purpose holding jamiliar talks with the laboring people. At otr meetings we shal! have plenty of music, which 1s always attractive. ““We havea number of difficult problems to solve, and we shall take one up at a time.
