10 THE SAN FRANCISCO CALL, MONDAY, JULY 5, 1897 - GIVE GLORY 10 HIS MEMORY Honoring the Hero Who Made the Fourth a Grand Possibility. Devotees of Patriotism Throng- ing to the Shrine of Abraham Lincoln, A Large Number of Additional Members on the Monument League Roll. The recurrence of the glorious day of National indepeadence affords a fitting atmosphere for memories of Lincoln. The devotion and character of the great martyr-President made possibie the united celebration of tue Fourth of July, and round his name her thoughts of a grand and selfless patriotism such as is peculiarly appropriate at this season. Therefore the steady addition to the roll of membership of the Monumeni Leagve will be noted with wide gratifica- | tion. It is proposed to erect a fitting me- | morial to tue great war President in Gold- en Gate Park and a modest donation of 25 cents entitles each patriotic donor to a certificate of membership in the Monu- ment League.
