SUTRO BATHS' DAY, The Afternoon of the 10th Instant Will Be Spent by the Christian Endeav- orers at Sutro Baths, No place in the far West has sucha world-wide reputation as Sutro Baths. Probably not one of the hundreds of thou- sands of strangers brought by the search for pleasure or otherwise to the El Do- rado of the nineteenth century—the sun- loved land of California—has failed to spend some ha ppy hours at this magnifi- cent palatizl place, which bears testimony of the progressive and enterprisins spirit of one of California’s most highly re- spected citizens and philanthropists— Hon. Adolpn Sutro. Sutro baths are, without doubt, the finest of their kind in the world. They cost to build §1.500,000, and have a capacity of 1,804 962 gallons. A programme of striking novelties has been arranged for tc-day, Christian En- deavorers’ day, July 10, and Sunday, July 1L “Die Puppen Fee,” or the “Doll Fairy,”” a_ballet pantomime originated by Herr Hasselbreiter, maitre de ballet of the Im- perial Opera-house, Vienna, will be pro- duced at the baths on the dates men- tioned. The spectacle nas never belore been produced in the United States. Pro- fessor Hanson of Stockholm, Sweden, has charge of its presentation at Sutro Baths. As a supplement to the ballet pantomime a grand finale of original historical ta- beaux wili be presented at the close ot every performance. The Jumber ana beauty of the costumes required for the tableaux and the pantomime will present a series of kaleidoscopic and brillant scenes, —_—————— The Pleasanton. The Hotel Pleasanton is probably one of the most elegantly appointed and suc- cessfully conducted family and tourist hotels in San Francisco. The proprietor, Q. M. Brennan, is one of the oldest and most experienced hotel men in California. Two lines of cable-car< pass the hotel, go- ing direct to Golden Gate Park and the grand ocean boulevard. " The cuisine and service at the Pleasan- ton is not 1o be excelled. Those who ap- preciate the best and will pay for the best will find a cordial greeting ana a mo:t pleasant recollection of San Francisco’ vroverbial hospitality at this beautiful bostelry, | Miss Sternberg, Mrs. E.
