Wheat opened strong on higher cables from Liv- erpool. Added to this French markets were ad- vaucing on bad crop conditfons. July opened at 72@7=1/sc and advanced 10 T254c, where offerings were ratherot a larger volume than buyers seemed wiiling to carry off and the price dropped sharply under this infiuence to 71 7c. Closing Liverpool and French cables steadied the market at this point. Fora short time there was gcod buying, but offerings were liberal. As 500D as the buving eased the price again droppea suddenly to 7114c, where buying against puts held the market until the close. The bears’ aggressive- ness during the day was most pronounced, while the bulls acted with timidity. The laer tried to harden the market arousd 7234c in order to sell out thelr holdings, but in this tuey were ont-gen- eraled.
