The Comstocks ruled rather lower yesterday under dull trading. Occidental Is assessed 15 cents. Inthe Chollar mine in the south stope above the 450 level they have raised up to the tenth floor and find the old filliogs to be of low grade. On the ninth floor going north the west casing car- 1es some bunches of good ore. On the ninth and tenth floors between the morth and south stopesithe pay stringers continue to Jook well as they work south. On the 650 level the stringers onthe sixth floor continue to yield the usual amount of ore. On the trick floor the stringers are small and of low grade. The west crosscut on this level, 840 feet from the south iine, 1sout 97 feet: theface is in clay and porphyry. s They saved and sent to the mill during the week 125 tons and 1600 pounds of ore, the average of the bat ery assays belnz #8637 in gold and 10.68 ounces in fine silver per ton. Inthe Fotosi mine they are timberinz up the connections beiween the top of the rase and the tunoel level. This work is not yet completed. In the stope at the bottom of the raise (or interme- diate level) they have ihree men working on pay ore. The pay improves as ther go west.
