There were no fluctuations calling for particular comment, how- ever. Concerning the rumors as to the Spring Valley water dividends, it is now reported that while dividends may be passed in the near future, not | more than one month's dividend will be omitted. This course was deemed more satisfactory than a reduction of the dividends from 50 cents to 40 cents per month, which was the other alternative under consideration by the management.
