Attorney-General Hancock’s opinlon in the Whelan matter against the American Tobacco Company led to iquidations all along the line in the industrial group and losses of 15@21; per cent were recorded. No important gains were made by prices, however, trage early becoming dull and inactive. Liverpool cables were weak aad lower. Receipts were 832 car und 963,000 bushels were taken from store, Export clearances amounted to 351,452 bushels. Bradstreet’s reported a decrease in tocks of 496, 000 bushels.
