When the enormous increase in the world’s visible supply, given by Bradsireet's yesterday, sufliced to cause only a slight recession and when other bear news of pronounced importance falls fiat, speculators argue that there is something back of the stub- bornness shown by prices. The popular opinion Jeans o the theory that New York is at the bot- tom of the sirained conditions. The opening this morning was firm, several prominent shorts cover- ing freely because'of the failure of the market to evince uny weakness. Cables from Liverpool were steady, which, in view of the moderate decline of yesterday in this market, was calculated to impart firmness. The talk of droughty weatber in the wheat sections received confirmation by the Cin- cinnati Price Current this morning. That was an- OtheF feature encouraging Lo buyers. Export clearances amounted to 169,970 busbels. With the decliue in wheat came corresponding weakness in corn and a subse- quent recovery w r grain.
