Sept. 25.—Thehearts of the bulls 11 wheat were delighted with the condition of the market for that grain at the opening to-day. Prices were higher 34¢ to 1%/¢ than they were at the close yesterday. The greater part of the gain was made on the curb last night, but the strength at the start to-day was most pronounced. Where the firmness came from and to what tie change insentiment was due _continued in doubt. Opinions differed on the guestion. Some ascribe the improved feeling to the el@vator decision of two days ago: others claimed that the foreign situation was at the bot- tom of it, while by far the majority of traders were Dot inclined to worty over the matter, but were sai- isfied that the decline bad been checked. During the ‘morning (he enthusiasm began to ooze out of the market and values lost the appreciation. Liverpool cables were firm.
