CHICAGO, Ixx., Aug. 19.—Nothing in the Infor- mation on wheat this morning was calculated to advance prices of that grain, but the value of corn was higher on a continvation of the dry-weather talk. and this exerted a strengthemng influence on wheat. Liverpool cables were quiet and steady, with & slight advance reported In futures. Re- celpts at Chicago were slightly in excess of the estimate, 91 cars arriving. The Northwest had Jiberal supplies, 348 cars coming in at Minneapolis -and Duluth. Within a few minutes afier the open- ing the bearish color of the news made an impres. sion and prices deciined about 1c from the highest auotation established at the opening. Withdrawals from store were 14,640 bushels and 851,736 bushels cleared at the seaboard. Russian shipments last week were 3,016.000 bushels aud _Argentine 80.000 bushels. india shipped 704,000 bushels. ‘The amount of wheat on ocean passage de- creased 1,920,000 bushels and the American visi- ble supply 947.000 bushels. The English visibie supply increased 777,000 bushels. The feeling was weak throughout the remainder of the day and at the close prices were tabout the inside. Septem- ber wheat opened trom 665/@66%4c, 8014 between 665/4c and 6374, closing_ at lower than_Saturday. This1s due to a falling off in our trade with China and Japan and other markets on this side of the world. ~ There has been a decrease 0f $705,000 from Japan, $366,000 from China and Hongkoug, $1,330.000 from the Hawaiian Islands. uos,o& with Central America and $629,000 with Mexico.
